Stephen Shore was diagnosed with autism when he was 18 months of age. Because in the 60's autism was considered incurable and there was no rehabilitation services available, his parents decided to employ a set of home-grown methods to get the child to communicate. Now Stephen Shore is finishing a doctoral dissertation on analyzing how the different approaches of today can best be matched with the diverse needs of children on autism spectrum. |
