Login with SAMK user ID

SAMK students and staff login with SAMK user ID. Logging in, you will have access to various online services. You may for instance check and renew your loans, place requests and save favourites and searches.

Login:

  • Select Login.
  • Select Haka Login.
  • Login with your SAMK user ID.
  • Please contact the library if the login fails.

Always end your session by selecting Logout and close the internet browser (on a public computer).

The SAMK user ID and the connected Finna account will stop working after graduation. However, you can login with your non-SAMK e-mail.

Visitors login with their e-mail

Others than SAMK students and staff can sign up for a library card online and login with their e-mail. Logging in, you will have access to various online services. You may for instance check and renew your loans, place requests and save favourites:

Login:

  • Select Login.
  • Select E-mail (visitors).
  • Select Sign up for a SAMK library card if you are a new customer.
  • Type your e-mail address and select Login. Check your e-mail and follow the instructions.
  • Please contact the library if the login fails.

Always end your session by selecting Logout and close the internet browser (on a public computer).

My account

Selecting your name and My account you can access your personal tabs: Profile, Checked out items, Hold and requests, Fines, Library cards, Favourites, and Saved searches.

Profile

My profile

  • You can update the email address you use in Finna. NOTE! This email address is only for email sent by Finna (saved searches).

Personal details maintained by the library

  • These are the personal details in SAMK library customer register.
  • This information can only be changed at the library.

Checked out items and renewal

  • Your checked out items are shown on the page.
  • You can renew online.
  • Renewal does not succeed if there are requests by other customers, for instance.
  • There is a renewal time limit of one year.

Holds and requests

  • Here are your pending holds.
  • You can place a new hold on a book by searching the book and selecting Place a new request.

Fines

  • Here are the fines you have incurred, i.e. how much there is to pay and why.
  • 20 euros or more will result in suspension of borrowing rights.
  • You can pay the fines online or in campus libraries in Pori and Rauma.

Library cards

  • Here are the details and barcodes of your library card connected to your Finna account.

Favourites

  • You can add the searched items to your own favourites by selecting the pin symbol
  • Items are first saved in My favourites. Then you can move or copy them to the list of your choice.
  • You can sort your references and add notes (Edit).
  • You can create and remove your own public or private Favourites lists. The address of a public list can be copied from the address bar. You can then share the address.
  • You can name the lists as you like and move their contents from one list to another.
  • You can share references or forward them by email.
  • You can export references to RefWorks.

Saved searches

  • The searches you carry out are saved during the session at Your recent searches.
  • To store important references select Save.
  • You can delete searches or empty the history by selecting Delete.
  • Alerts service offers you new references daily or weekly, based on criteria provided by you. The results will be delivered to your email.

Always end your session by selecting Logout and close the internet browser (on a public computer).
